Mark Betts are accredited with VTCT to deliver Hairdressing NVQ's and Key Skills as part of the Governments Apprenticeship Training Programme.

Apprentices are employed in local salons and will receive a minimum of £95 per week. Attendance to Mark Betts is on a day release basis, where you will attend our purpose designed training salons. Mark Betts also provides work based apprenticeships where our tutors will perform assessments in salon rather than attending our training salon on a day release basis.

The programme will result in the achievement of an NVQ level 2 hairdressing qualification plus Key Skills in Communication and Application of Number at level 1.

Advanced Apprenticeship

Mark Betts offers an NVQ 3 Hairdressing programme on a Monday evening. The programmes are available to hairdressers qualified at NVQ 2 and meet the governing awarding bodies’ requirements. The NVQ 3 course is also available on a work based basis. The course length is funded for 2 years, but can be achieved on a shorter term based on the individual. Key skills level 2 in Communication and Application of Number may be mandatory if the learner cannot produce evidence of GCSE's grade C or above in Maths and English.

E2E

This entry to Employment Programme is aimed at 16-19 year over a maximum of 20 weeks.E2E is designed to introduce learners to the Hairdressing industry. The course concentrates on Hairdressing Level 2 units(G1 Health & Safety and H9 Shampoo and Condition Hair) and Wider Key Skills(W.W.O and I.O.L.P)).The course also provides support in locating a suitable employer.  Progression from this course leads to the Apprentice programme.

14-16

A new venture for 2006 is working with schools to expand the curriculum. We are working with schools in Kirklees to offer the Vocational Course in Hairdressing NVQ Level 2 certificate and Key Skills in Application of Number and Communication level 1.

Diploma

New for September 2009 the delivery of the Hairdressing and Beauty Diploma is available to candidates aged 14-19.The Diploma is designed for learners who are in full time education and want to work towards a vocational qualification along side GCSE’s or A level qualifications.
The course runs on a day release basis over 2 years.
The Diploma is made up of many parts. Principal Learning-this will develop selected knowledge, understanding and skills relevant to the hair and beauty sector, using realistic work experience.
